Everything is ready for #tdp2024!

Everything is ready for the 36th edition of the “City of Peace” International Tournament, scheduled as per tradition during the Easter weekend, from 28 to 31 March 2024. The event, which for over thirty years has been among the most eagerly awaited in Rovereto and in Vallagarina, continues on the path traced by some editions, focusing on the youth sectors of three disciplines (football, basketball and water polo), placing the values on which it is based at the center: friendship, fair play, encounter and peace, in this period more than ever, who are protagonists not only on the pitches but also during the collateral events that characterize the tournament, such as the Opening Ceremony at the Bell of the Fallen, the parade through the streets of the center which will end in Piazza Umberto Savoia under the dome of the MART and the Closing Ceremony at the Quercia Stadium, but also in the many moments that will also involve the city in the Sports Village, set up from Thursday to Saturday in the Urban Courtyard of via Roma.

SPORT – There will be three sports disciplines involved this year: during the Easter weekend in Rovereto and Vallagarina, football will be played (categories U8, U11, U13, U15, U17, Women Open Age and Women Under 15), basketball ( U10), water polo (U12). On Saturday in Lizzana there will also be a triangular demonstration of the “Special” category of the football tournament, reserved for footballers with intellectual-relational disabilities and psychiatric pathologies. In total, there will be more than 130 participating teams, for a total of 2000 athletes of all ages who will experience a weekend of sport and celebration in Rovereto.

THE NATIONS – There will be 9 nations participating in the Tournament, with the confirmation of Germany (with Vöhringen, Anhausen and Burk from the twinned city of Forcheim), Austria (with the other twinned city of Kufstein and the first foreign team in the history of the water polo tournament, Wasserball Tirol), Albania (with the traditional participation of AK Shkodra) and Poland (which returns with last year’s champions Gornik Zabrze). The Czech Republic also returns after a few years, with the Under 8s of the twinned Dolni Dobrouc, and Kosovo, with three teams from FC Ulpiana. Japan (with the Milan Academy of Aichi, Under 11, and Chiba, Under 15) and Kuwait (Milan Academy Loyac, in the Under 11 and Under 13) are very confirmed. The ninth nation is obviously Italy, with a strong presence of local teams, but also of other teams that will travel many kilometers to be there, such as Barbato Football Academy (Lazio) and ASD Vallescriva (Liguria).

THE SPORTS VILLAGE – Confirmed after the first edition last year, the Sports Village returns, which will be set up in the heart of the city, in the Urban Courtyard of via Roma, from Thursday to Saturday. During the day there will be the possibility (for the little ones but not only) to discover some sports that will come to present their activities (including volleyball, wrestling, 5-a-side football and qwan ki do), but also to play freely in the various stations of sports games that will be set up. In the evening there is space for music and shows: live music on Thursday evening in collaboration with UploadSounds, with performances by Coboolt, Pera and Maude; on Friday evening there will be space for the Welcome Show with ASD Life, 4Fusion Dance School and the aerial fabrics of FuoriQuotA; Saturday evening instead DJ set with VISIO; every day, from 6pm, the sports aperitif with DJ set with CARPA and BLACK PHILLIP form NOPE ent. A tournament info point will then be set up where it will be possible to purchase merchandising, there will be a food truck and a large LED wall will broadcast images of the greatest Italian sporting successes, to always breathe the air of sport.

THE VOLUNTEERS – Important numbers regarding the Junior Team project, which involves young people from high schools and the first years of university as volunteers on the fields during the event. There were so many people signing up: in fact there will be 120 kids who will be busy during the Easter weekend in the most disparate activities: accompanying and supporting the foreign teams, managing the logistics of the race sites, from the competitive moment to the collateral events, from the info-point for merchandising sales; manage moments of animation, activities related to communication and social networks and much more. Only one common goal: to make #tdp2024 unforgettable. If we add to them the 25 staff members, the 25 Race Site Managers, the photographers, the videomakers, the volunteers from the sports clubs and the many other figures involved, we arrive at over 250 volunteers.

ACCESS TO THE QUERCIA STADIUM – This year the Quercia Stadium, site of the finals on Sunday evening, the awards ceremony and the Closing Ceremony, will have a limited capacity due to the construction work on the new grandstand. For this reason, on Sundays starting from 5pm it will be possible to access the Stadium ONLY with a special bracelet, which will be delivered by the Committee
